My boyfriend and I were looking for a sushi place since we are new to Kalamazoo. This place was recommended A LOT and it did not disappoint. The staff were nice, the atmosphere was calm. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was not busy at all. All of our food came almost instantly and it’s pretty on par with the price of sushi anywhere else. I forgot to take any pictures before the food was all gone because it was just too good.

In town for a few days, decided to try Toba out since it has such a high rating. I can absolutely see why! This place is phenomenal! It has been many years since I've had such great sushi! Everything tasted so incredibly fresh from the gyoza to the unreal cream cheese in the Berry Blossom roll! Top notch service and food for sure! Next time I'm back in town, this will definitely be a destination!

My new lunchtime downtown Kalamazoo spot. Great selection and vegetarian friendly. Accommodated additions to our rolls. Highly recommended.

Had to wait a little bit but oh was it so worth it. Price was great for the gorgeous plating, and outstanding flavor and taste. Never had raw fish sushi until today, loved it!

I tried two different special rolls and they were very good. Each component is flavorful (unlike some places where all you taste is the sauces). Even the rice is well seasoned. And the rolls are creative and unique. I'll come again.

Great atmosphere.. but the food.. not the best. I got jus a classic California Roll. The avocado was a lil brown. The wasabi has no flavor. And the food its self. Has barley any taste…

When you're so confident in your concept that you turn a drive-thru credit union into a 5-star sushi joint, Toba is what you get!! We have been here a handful of times for pick up, however, this was our first time eating in and ordering sushi instead of the burritos. We ordered: Toba Galbi (panko fried beef), Tuna Tataki Roll, Fire Cracker Roll, & Tornado Roll. It was absolutely outstanding!! The service was great as well!! Toba!..Toba!..Toba!

WOW! Toba was incredible from the moment we sat down, and for our whole meal! It’s GORGEOUS inside, the staff is so friendly, and the food was amazing. My husband loves sushi and was really impressed with theirs! Preparation was perfect. I definitely recommend the tofu. 10/10 will be BACK!!
